It gives me great honour to welcome delegates and participants of TRANSED 2010 to Hong Kong, Asia’s world city and the ideal location to promote “Sustainable Transport and Travel for All”.

 Hong Kong is a renowned destination for leisure and business travels.  To enable our visitors to enjoy their stay here, we are fully committed to ensuring that our tourism products and services are accessible to everybody.  Our efficient transport network takes visitors from the rest of the world to Hong Kong and brings them to our tourist attractions effectively.  Barrier-free environment for our visitors is an important feature in our major attractions, shopping malls, restaurants and hotels.

 To enhance Hong Kong’s tourist appeal, we are now constructing a new cruise terminal and expanding two theme parks.  In the next few years, many new mega arts, cultural and sports events as well as international conventions and exhibitions will take place in this metropolis.  All these will offer our visitors an unrivalled experience.
